Proposition 8 is a prop for California that tried to give homosexual men and women the right to become married in the state of California. This was one of the most highly debated bills that has ever been voted on in California. Prop 8 did not get passed which means that homosexual men and women are still not able to get married. It is an absolutely rediculous that they can not get married legally. Why do people not want to allow them to get married? If they were to get married, how would it affect you? These are all questions that people asked the opponents of prop 8. Of course there answers varied but mainly they said, "homosexual couples would damage society, require schools to change the curriculum, and it would be unfair to have one group of people treated differenty..." If they were able to get married they would not damage society because homosexuality is already a part of our society and it has not damaged us yet. Homosexuality is already mentioned in schools and whenever a kid turns on the tv they hear about it. Finally they already are being treated differenty by not being allowed to vote. Overall its unfair to not allow them to vote and we are not giving equal rights to everyone by not allowing to get married.
